This article was spot on. Learning should never have surprises. Clarity and understanding of expectations creates a comfort zone for students and teachers. Well planned lessons can be shared and collaborative learning begins. Starting a unit with clear expectations for all students is paving the road for success. You plan when you go to the grocery store, because it is helpful and planning for a learning experience provides guidelines for all involved.
